On Friday 8th March, the library was pleased to welcome Daunt Books to put on a book fair as part of our World Book Day celebrations.
There was a wide variety of literature available – mystery, fantasy, romance and classics were all well represented. With £1 book tokens in hand, girls from across the year groups popped along to view their wares, and many went away with a purchase. It was especially delightful to hear friends recommending books to one another as they explored the book tables and discussions continued as they returned to their classrooms new books in hand. Particularly popular were the World Book Day £1 books -Nought Forever by Malorie Blackman, Snap by Patrice Lawrence, Ever dark by Abi Elphinstone, and Percy Jackson and the Singer of Apollo by Rick Riordan. Many thanks to Daunt Books for coming down and we hope we will be able to welcome them back again next year!
