On Friday 1st March, we were honoured to welcome Dr Heidi Hales, Consultant Adolescent Forensic Psychiatrist at FCAMHS, who gave an assembly as part of our Women of Influence Lecture Series.

Dr Hales began the assembly by discussing her education, particularly how she was accepted into Oxford University in spite of her GCSE results. Afterwards, Dr Hales told our girls that she had proudly earned her PhD while caring for her own children and introduced many of our girls to the life of social reformer Elizabeth Fry.

At the end of the assembly, Dr Hales discussed her role as a consultant adolescent forensic psychologist, touching on topical issues such as the gender pay gap and the various socioeconomic differences that influence well-being, education and health among young people.
