With a visit from computer scientist Dr Anne-Marie Imafidon nearly upon us, this week we were treated to a presentation by our own computer scientist in the making – Anne Claire in the Upper Sixth.

Anna Claire learnt to code in three languages (javascript, CSS and html) to build her own website for her Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). ‘Shopping Planet’ is a website game which measures your carbon footprint and environmental impact when choosing an outfit to buy. Anna Claire felt it important to educate FHS that computer science can be used to enhance interest in other passions. Studying Maths, Further Maths and Chemistry at A Level, she has offers from three top universities to study computer science in September.
