On Friday 22nd March, the Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth Italian students went to the Estorick Collection to attend a temporary exhibition on the Making of Modern Italy.

The guided visit was tailor-made for the A Level syllabus and conducted entirely in Italian. The girls were taken on a “virtual journey” through the early 1960s, the period of the so-called “economic miracle” in Italy.

They learnt about the influence that architects, designers, artists and filmmakers exerted on an international level and they were able to appreciate this impact first hand by looking at the works of art and documents displayed.

A very informative and visually engaging experience!
