On Friday afternoon our Upper Sixth Drama and Theatre A level group performed their devised play ‘The Ties Between Us’ to an audience of staff, family members and younger students. Their piece was about the close friendships formed in a girls’ school and it incorporated aspects of physical theatre, choreographed scenes, and music. The piece was lit by Sophie Hudson, also in Upper Sixth.

The work was visual, powerful, and honest with some wonderfully observed scenes such as the ‘exam room’ and the PE scenes. They used colour to symbolise the different characteristics of the roles they played, and the piece culminated in a wonderful painting scene.
