Monday night and the lights were low. Our Upper Fifth were ABBA-solutely thrilled to take a chance and see Mamma Mia! in the West End. The show was a post-mocks treat for being Super Troupers in the January exams, and a last night out before facing their Waterloo (GCSEs).

This is in danger of becoming an annual trip. Last year’s UV loved it, and when given a choice of ABBA again in 2023, almost everyone said Gimme, Gimme, Gimme. Here we go again, I thought. SOS. Couldn’t escape if I wanted to.

I won’t comment on how much Money, Money, Money was spent on sweets and chocolate, but it’s fair to say the students (and certain members of the Senior Leadership Team) were having the time of their lives. Smiling, having fun, we all left feeling like a number one.
