For the first time, a group of UIV Spanish students attended a cookery masterclass at La Cucina Caldesi on Monday 19th June.
What a delicious experience! The group had learnt about vocabulary linked to cooking, food, Spanish cuisine and eating habits as part of their syllabus, so this was an excellent educational experience to conclude the current academic year. The chef Carolina demonstrated how to make ĀmontaditosĀ first (with tomato, pork and cheese topping). Then, they were shown how to make Āalbondigas de carne en salsa de tomateĀ (meat balls in a tomato sauce). After this, they looked at how to cook ĀchampiƱones al ajilloĀ (a variety of mushrooms cooked with garlic and thyme). Finally, they were taught how to bake Ātarta de naranja con aceite de olivaĀ, which is an orange cake made with olive oil. After being exposed to the recipes, the girls were separated in 4 groups and they had the opportunity to have a go at it. The food was superb and the girls were very pleased and proud with the result. Ā”Muy bien, chicas! Ā”QuĆ© rica la comida!
