Despite major national disruption, all FHS UCAS applications were submitted long before the January 15th deadline, which this year has been extended by two weeks. The pandemic has seen a shift in university trends with many more concurrent US applications (10 in all), and some polished corners receiving revised offers following October re-sits (including two Medical offers). This year’s cycle has included 55 UCAS applications of which 98% are currently holding offers. The most popular centre this year was Edinburgh University; the most offers have come from Leeds and Bristol. 13 students applied to Oxbridge – 8 to Oxford and 5 to Cambridge; 10 of the applicants were interviewed. News of offers will come on 12th of this month from Oxford and 25th from Cambridge. The current LVI will begin university preparations on Wednesday 17th March at our Higher Education Evening. As usual, there will be UCAS Day in June, a full day’s activities in preparation for university applications which includes information on Oxbridge, Art Schools, Conservatoires and much more.
