What is a neurodegenerative disease?
What can be done to help people suffering from neurodegenerative diseases?
What scientific advancements have led to our current understanding of neurodegenerative diseases?
These questions and more were addressed in a fantastic lecture from our Biologist-in-Residence, Dr Isabel Glover (Research Fellow at UCL). With a focus on Parkinson’s disease, the lecture investigated how planned experiments, alongside chance discoveries, have led to the development of new drugs and treatments that have changed the lives of people suffering with neurodegenerative diseases. A truly inspiring session that highlighted how careful experimentation, thorough analysis of data and, occasionally, luck can lead to exciting scientific breakthroughs.
A huge thank you to Dr Glover for delivering this Stretch and Challenge talk on neurodegenerative disease.
