On Wednesday 20th March, we held the inaugural FHS Sports Dinner.
It was a spectacular evening dedicated to Senior Students who have represented the school in sports. Olympian Perri Shakes-Drayton gave an inspiring and insightful speech reflecting on her journey as a professional athlete. Perri’s main message was that passion and hard work can help us to overcome setbacks. Perri suffered from multiple injuries but four years later became a two time European Indoor Athletic Champion gold medalist through sheer determination and perseverance. A true inspiration for all, especially young female athletes. Perri then thanked and awarded the Sixth Form leavers: Kitty, Hannah, Gabby and Sophia for their commitment to FHS, playing netball since the Thirds. Winners of the evening were Gabby – Netball Shooting Cup, Hannah – Senior Netball Cup, Anki and Kalliopi – Senior Hockey Cup and Sophia – Contribution to Sport.
