On Tuesday, Francis Holland packed up our pupils and transported them up to Finsbury Park Athletic Track to hold our annual Sports Day! Mr Gough asked the weather for positive vibes earlier in the week, and it did not disappoint – we had extremely beautiful weather that was made better by the delicious ice creams at lunch time.
The morning saw the Junior School (III-UIV) hit the track, while the Senior School (LV & LVI) battled it out on the field events. After a delicious lunch by our wonderful catering team, we saw the year groups swap the track for the field and the field for the track.
In true FHS spirit the pupil’s displayed determination, perseverance and a great amount of house spirit, by stepping in last minute to gain those extra points for their house. It is safe to say that it was a great day with some excellent individual performances as well a true showcase of house camaraderie.
This day could not be possible without the help of everyone involved and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff, students, parents, facilities, catering and marketing team that assisted not only on the day but in the lead up. It is a big operation and without their input and assistance this would not have happened, so please accept my appreciation and thanks for making Sports Day 2024 a huge success!
Mr Gough, Head of Sport
