After a number of very successful experiences in the previous years, the Spanish Department decided to organise this event again.

A group of 23 UIV Spanish students attended a cookery masterclass at La Cucina Caldesi on Thursday 13th June. The group had learnt about vocabulary linked to cooking, food, Spanish cuisine and eating habits as part of their syllabus, so this was an excellent educational experience to conclude the current academic year. The chef Carolina demonstrated how to make Ā“tortilla espaƱolaĀ” first (Spanish omelette). Then, they were shown how to make Ā“albondigas de carne en salsa de tomateĀ” (meat balls in a tomato sauce). After this, they looked at how to cook Ā“champiƱones al ajilloĀ” (a variety of mushrooms cooked with garlic and thyme). Finally, they were taught how to bake Ā“tarta de naranja con aceite de olivaĀ”, which is an orange cake made with olive oil. After being exposed to the recipes, the girls were separated into 4 groups and they had the opportunity to have a go at cooking the dishes for themselves. The food was superb and the girls were very pleased and proud with the result. Ā”Muy bien, chicas! Ā”QuĆ© rica la comida!
