The Monarchy – everything you wanted to know about the Royal family, presented by Zaki Cooper who worked as the Assistant Press Secretary to the Queen from 2009 to 2012 on the Diamond Jubilee.

Zaki talked to the Sixth Form about his time in the Buckingham Palace press office, engaging them with questions and information about the workings of the Royal household. He talked about the members of the royal family, the pattern of their year, their residences and some history with a very interesting explanation of the Commonwealth and the QueenĀ’s role and responsibilities. He finished his talk by highlighting some features which make the monarchy unique, followed by some perceptive questions from the Sixth form, ranging from the best way to apply for a job at the palace to the role of the royal family today.

Very many thanks to Zaki for this engaging and interactive presentation.
