It was a real pleasure to have Emily Miller here at FHS as a guest speaker on our Lecture Programme.

Emily is Head of Learning and Partnership at the Migration Museum and she spoke to our Sixth Formers about migration.

Emily explained how the EU referendum result in 2016 and ongoing Brexit negotiations have sparked debate about BritainĀ’s relationship with the world and uncertainty about migration to and from Britain. However, she continued, Brexit is far from the first pivotal migration moment in BritainĀ’s migration history as she identified seven other turning points that in the History of the UK either brought people together or moved them apart; all of which had a profound effect on individuals and on the country as a whole.

Very interactive and informative, our students engaged well with the activities and asked very thought provoking questions.
