On Monday 27th January we welcomed speaker David Walsh to share his story with our Sixth Form.
David experienced the physical, personal, and mental impact of being involved in a car crash first-hand. Like many others who go through the same due to alcohol, checking their phone, or other reasons for not giving 100% attention to their driving, David struggled to accept what happened, come to terms with his sense of guilt and move on. Unlike many others however, he has managed to turn this horrendous and life-changing experience into an educational opportunity so that other young people make better-informed choices about theirs and other peopleĀs safety on the street.
David spoke very openly to our students about how this event has affected him emotionally and physically; he talked honestly about his struggles but also reminded us that no matter what happens in our lives, we can find strength within ourselves and make something out of even the most terrible experiences.
