Positive Voice for HIV Education

Emma began her talk by giving some essential facts and figures about HIV and AIDS before telling us her personal story. Since her diagnosis, almost 27 years ago, there have been huge advances in medicine and antiretroviral treatment can control the effects of HIV very effectively. However, worldwide, HIV continues to be a very serious virus, which is not restricted to certain people or communities. The Sixth Form found her talk extremely interesting. They asked many insightful questions both about the virus and about EmmaĀ’s personal challenges, which Emma answered fully and with a sense of humour. She encouraged the students to contact her with any additional questions, by email at positivevoice@hotmail.com.

Very many thanks to Emma for this informative and engaging talk.
