To mark Children’s Mental Health Week from Monday 1st – Friday 5th February, our PE department is encouraging pupils to spend as much time as they can outdoors in the fresh air, in order to enjoy the many benefits of being outside on their physical and mental wellbeing.
Each day on our PE twitter feed (@FHS_NW1_Sport), the PE department will be sharing facts and daily challenges to inspire us all to get outside. It is particularly important during times of remote learning that we take time away from our devices, observe nature and breathe in the fresh air.
The PE department recently launched the FHS Virtual Challenge, encouraging pupils and staff to get active with a choice of physical activities. Challenges include walking the distance of the English Channel (21 miles), climbing the equivalent of Mount Snowdon (4610 sets of stairs), running Hadrian’s Wall (90 miles) or cycling the equivalent distance from London to Paris (200 miles). The challenge is a great excuse to get outside, and earn those all important house points in the process! For more information on the FHS Virtual Challenge, click here.
