On Wednesday 17th November, Tilika in the Lower Sixth led a powerful talk on the importance of representation during our Diversity Society session.
This couldn’t come at a better time considering that meanwhile in St. Cyprian’s the conference “Teachers like me- building an ethically diverse staff room” was taking place. Tilika focussed on the power of representation but also warned everyone about the danger of mis-representation and stereotypes. The group was then divided up in smaller groups and prepared presentations about influential people who inspirational for minority groups and the world in general.
We are looking forward to seeing them present in the next couple of sessions.
