Our annual Prize-Giving returned to St Marylebone Parish Church on the afternoon of Friday 9th July.
This year, parents and families joined us from home via a Zoom livestream as the prize winners, performers and staff gathered in the Church to celebrate our pupils’ achievements over the past academic year.
Headmaster, Mr Fillingham, processed into the ceremony accompanied by a fanfare and the school hymn before addressing the audience, both within the Church and at home. He spoke of the great resilience shown by Francis Holland pupils over the last 18 months and how special it was to finally be back at St Marylebone to celebrate all that makes the school brilliant.
The achievements of our Scholars and Exhibitioners were celebrated before prizes for academic excellence and progress were awarded for each subject in each year group. Outstanding GCSE results and admirable services to the school and the wider community were also recognised. Our virtual and in-house audience enjoyed performances from the cast of the summer production of High School Musical, the School Choir and Synchronicity music group as well as amazing piano and oboe solos. The Head Girlās badge was officially handed over after both past and present Head Girls made rousing speeches on the importance of Francis Holland community spirit.
Thank you to all family and friends who joined us virtually (almost 200 devices were watching the livestream!) for a wonderful afternoon of celebration and recognition of the girlsā hard work and dedication to their studies throughout the academic year.
