Celebrating our return to the FHS building, our inaugural Back in the Building event series has been a tremendous success, from swinging jazz nights to guided gin tastings. The series concluded on Tuesday with an expertly-led summer wine tasting hosted by local wine merchants Jeroboams. The library tables were laden with cheese and crackers to accompany the 8-bottle wine list, with four French wines to compare to four ‘new world’ wines from across the globe. As the evening went on, our wine-expert Michael led the tables through 2 sparkling wines, 2 reds, 2 whites and 2 rosĆ©s, inviting the room to compare and contrast the subtle notes of each wine, whilst offering them some home truths about their favourite shelf-bought wines! It was a fantastic evening of drinking and socialising to conclude ‘Back in the Building 2022’, and it’s wonderful to see our FHS community enjoying social events together once again.
