At the beginning of the summer break a group of Lower and Upper Fifth students travelled to Valencia, East coast of Spain, on a school trip accompanied by Mr Gridelli and Miss Lamas.
The girls attended language lessons and put what they had learnt to good use at home with their host families. Not only were the girls able to practise their Spanish conversation skills, they were also able to appreciate the local culture, gastronomy and the seaside.
They were taken for a guided tour of the city and they enjoyed some free time in the buzzy narrow streets. They learned about ĀLas FallasĀ Ā a traditional celebration held in commemoration of Saint Joseph- and went to city its museum. The group were captivated by the futuristic architecture of the City of Arts and Sciences, they threw themselves into the interactive activities at the museum, they enjoyed the dolphins show at the Oceanographic and loved paddling around in the pool. They were able to relax on the beach, learn how to make paella and, they even had a BBQ at the language school.
What a great start to our well-deserved summer holiday!
