On Wednesday morning, nine Lower Sixth History of Art students visited the newly renovated Blavatnik Art, Film, and Photography Galleries at the Imperial War Museum. The students saw works which dated from 1916 to the present day and which ranged media and genre. The trip was an excellent introduction to the ‘Art and War’ module which they begin this week. And in addition to gaining an introduction to the theme, students were lucky enough to see three of their set artworks in person, including works by Steve McQueen, John Singer Sargent and kennardphillips. The morning was rounded off with a picnic and ice creams in sunny Southwark Park, before returning to school for afternoon lessons.
