On Wednesday 2nd February, we had our first cross country competition of 2022 located at Wormwood Scrubs. We arrived and left with our spirits held high, with the whole team doing the School proud. We faced some fierce competition but that didn’t stop any of us. We’re all resilient FHS girls and our early 7:30am training sessions paid off!

In the Junior A race, Ruby James finished the highest for FHS, coming an astonishing 2nd place, with Imogen Brown coming not far behind in 11th place. The rest of the Junior A team also did brilliantly with Katherine Peacock finishing 22nd, Julia Johnson 34th, Helena Malpica 47th and Natalia Jaffar 73rd. Next was the Intermediate and Seniors combined race, and the results were as follows: Charli Edge 21st (13th in her Intermediate category), Athina Kotridou 44th, Emma Dixter 49th, India Smith 78th, Claudia Sutton 84th and Sabrina Ahmud (Senior) 91st.

In the Junior B, we had two teams racing. The Thirds team finished as follows: Regan Allford 17th, Laura Fuereder 38th, Coco Keith 98th, Aurelia Twinch 109th, Kate Prevot 110th and Jasmine Zhao 112th. The Lower Fourth and Upper Fourth team finished in the following positions: Katie Landau 70th, Molly Marple 75th, Esha Sachdev 88th, and Evie Ashcroft Morgan 103rd.

Additional congratulations to Ruby James, who has been selected to compete in the Junior Girls Team at the English Schools Cross Country competition on 19th March. Good luck Ruby!

Overall, we all had a great time. The team were all determined and were great team players, cheering each other on. They were rightly so rewarded with donuts and chocolate at the end of their amazing runs.

Thanks to Miss Robson for taking us and supporting the whole squad for the day, and every Monday morning.
