At FHS this week, we have had the literary festival. On Monday, Harry Baker visited the school to perform his poetry and speak to our sixth form. Dr Matthew Edwards also came to visit our UIV and LV students to speak about Shakespeare, with a particularly focus on ‘The Tempest’ and ‘Romeo and Juliet’. On Tuesday, Dr Gita Ralleigh came to speak to our IIIs and LIV students about creative writing and students thoroughly enjoyed building their own worlds in her session. On Thursday, the annual Inter-house Spelling Bee took place during lunchtime, with the finalists battling it out to be the best speller in FHS! On Friday, we had a book sale to mark literary week and International Women’s Day, focusing on female characters and writers.
