The first lunchtime concert of the new academic year was held at St Cyprian’s Church and provided an intimate and elegant treat for a small audience of parents and teachers.
This special strings edition featured performances by three pupils, who skillfully played a varied program. The concert opened with Inez who played two of Bartok’s 44 Duos, showcasing intricate harmonies and dynamic interplay between the performers. Following this, Eloise delivered a captivating rendition of Playera No. 1 from Spanish Dances op. 23, with its rich Spanish rhythms and evocative melodies. The concert concluded with the elegant Gavotta from Sonata in A, op. 5, No. 2, a piece full of charm and grace and beautifully performed by Helena.
The warm acoustics of the church really showcased the beauty of the strings, with a serene and reflective atmosphere. A delightful musical lunchtime escape, warmly appreciated by the small, supportive audience!
The first of many lunchtime concerts to look forward to this year!
