On Monday 14th November, Francis Holland welcomed seven entrepreneurs for an inspirational and empowering discussion on entrepreneurship.

Part of our Entrepreneurship Fortnight, the evening served to answer many of the questions the students and parents who attended may have had about what it is like to take the plunge and start your own company.
Jonathan Pfitzner, Partner of Aurelius Advisers, hosted the event, and fielded questions to the panelists, who were as follows:
- Elizabeth Passey (Senior Adviser at J Stern & Co)
- Mandeep Metharu (Co-Founder of Medbiomarkers)
- Eve Li (Owner of East Meets West Club)
- Tom Davenport (Co-Founder at TalentPool)
- Sofia Fenichell (CEO & Co Founder at Mrs Wordsmith)
- Shirley Soskin (Managing Partner at Silverhawk Partners)
Further information on our panelists can be found by clicking here.
Each entrepreneur discussed their experiences starting businesses, either alone or with co-founders, and gave their opinions on topics such as the pros and cons of working in a large corporation versus working along (please see video below), whether entepreneurship is an intrinsic quality or whether it can be learnt, what is is like being a female business woman, the work life balance of entrepreneurs, and whether ‘failures’ should regarded in a negative or a positive light. Hands shot up in the audience as those attending eagerly questioned the entrepreneurs further about their experiences.
Many thanks to all of the entrepreneurs who came in to give such inspirational talks.
