On Monday 14th March, our Lower Sixth attended a Higher Education evening.

There was a range of fascinating talks on topics covering every aspect of Higher Education. Mr Ward and Ms Slocombe discussed applying for Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Science, followed by talks with Miss Orr and Mrs Lockwood on Art courses and studying in the United States respectively.

The girls and their parents then gathered in the lecture theatre for a lecture covering applications to Oxford and Cambridge Universities. We were lucky enough to have both Dr Kirsten Dickers, Admissions Tutor at Cambridge University, and Dr Janette Gilbert, Admissions Tutor at Oxford University, attending. Both gave incredibly useful and interesting advice on the whole process, as did our own teachers and students Xiusi, Amalia and Imani who all hold offers from either Oxford or Cambridge.

The evening was rounded off with a talk from Mr Fillingham about the importance of the choices surrounding Higher Education, followed by guest speaker Mr Raoul Morley, from the Undergraduate Recruitment Office at UCL, who discussed the general university application process.

Overall, the evening was a great success, and we wish the girls the very best with their applications.
