For our first Hale lecture of the year at Francis Holland, Regent’s Park, we were honoured to welcome Jenny Halpern Prince MBE, a prominent entrepreneur and philanthropist. Jenny co-founded Halpern, one of the UK’s leading PR agencies, and is the driving force behind the Lady Garden Foundation, which raises awareness for gynaecological cancers.

In a captivating fireside chat, Jenny shared insights from her career, revealing that although she was accepted into the London School of Economics to study history, she chose a different path, guided by her entrepreneurial spirit. Her early role at fashion brand Joseph showcased her creativity and initiative, helping the company generate an additional £100,000 in her first year. Jenny emphasized the importance of networking, explaining how she built her business by “putting herself out there” and attending events, often going out every evening to meet new people and push her boundaries.

Jenny’s message to the students was clear: be fearless, face obstacles head-on, and take every opportunity because you never know what might come from it. She also shared the personal motivation behind founding the Lady Garden Foundation, encouraging the girls to be vigilant about the early symptoms of gynaecological cancers and highlighting the importance of early detection.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Jenny for her time and invaluable insights. Special recognition goes to the students who led the event: Zoe (IIIH), Jessie (IIIH), Ella (IIIH), and Emily (IIIH), as well as Sambelle (UVE) and Scarlett (UVS) for their exceptional handling of the Q&A session. Thanks also to Maddy and Catherine for their contributions as prefects.

At FHRP, we place great emphasis on student leadership, and it was wonderful to see our girls leading with such confidence and asking such insightful questions. Many thanks to everyone who attended this memorable lecture.
