On Monday 14th November, as part of our Entrepreneurship Fortnight, Ali Gillum came in to talk to the girls about potential, passion, perseverance and her experiences setting up her company Making Pretty.
Ali, an FHS Alumna, spoke about her very first experience of entrepreneurship, which came during Sixth Form when she and her Young Enterprise team decided to sell pyjama bottoms. Thsi sparked a love of creativity, designing, and sewing, with Ali persued by setting up her first company, which made cases for phones, tablets and laptops,
Ali’s most recent venture, however, is Making Pretty, a company which creates websites and brands. Ali told the girls about her experience setting up the company and working as an entrepreneur, and the joy she gets from doing something she loves. She believes that the three key elements in becoming an entrepreneur are Potential, Passion and Perseverance, and encouraged the students to pursue any ideas they may have.
