On Friday 8th November, members of the Upper and Lower Fourth set off for a weekend with the Classics Department, visiting the sites and wonders of the northern most boarder of the Roman Empire.
On Saturday, we visited the Roman Army Museum and two Roman Forts Vindolanda and Chesters where the girls investigated what life was like for a Roman Solider, explored a settlement and learnt about the construction of Hadrians Wall. The following day we set out to walk a portion of the wall enjoying the countryside and the famous ‘Sycamore Gap’ before heading back to London.
