On Wednesday 11 December, the whole Francis Holland Regent’s Park community gathered in St. Marylebone Parish Church for our spectacular annual Christmas Carol Service.
Led by our wonderful Director of Music, Ms Murphy, the service consisted of joyful musical performances by our Junior and Senior Choirs and Chamber Choirs, Senior Strings and Vocal group. Festive musical pieces included O Holy Night, The Coventry Carol, Pie Jesu, all of which were performed to an excellent standard.
We were also treated to a an beautiful vocal solo of Benjamin Britten’s That Younge Child – Balulalow by Hermione M (Upper Sixth). The congregation also joined in with some festive favourites including Once in Royal Davidās City,Ā In the Bleak Midwinter, O Little Town of BethlehemĀ andĀ O Come, All Ye Faithful.
We also enjoyed poignant readings by pupils from every year group, the vicar, our Head, Mrs Woodcock, Head of Drama, Ms Simmons, and Head Girl, My-Anh.
Thank you so much to all who attended and made the afternoon such a magical celebration of Christmas, worthy of its stunning venue, and to all who donated money to Shelter in our retiring collection.
We wish our entire school community a happy and restful Christmas break.
