On Wednesday 26th April we held a Charity Football Quiz and Football Mufti Day in aid of Southern Zambian-based charity Play it Forward. Teams formed of all year groups gathered in the Hall donning their best sporting gear and took part in several rounds of ‘women in sport’ themed questions. £1,071 was raised in total and this will go towards supporting young people in Southern Zambia have access to opportunities through education and health activities.
Help Fund member Sarah in the LIV said: “On Wednesday we paid £2 to come into school in our football kit (and jeans!) and our other favourite sportswear all in aid of a fantastic cause, Play it Forward. Play it Forward is a social enterprise charity that supports young people in Tanzania through football. We sold and ate a lot of doughnuts at the brilliant women in sport quiz at lunchtime with different fun rounds written by different people; including Headmistress Mrs Woodcock! Thank you to all who supported our cause through sport, we are proud to have raised over £1,000!”
This football-themed day of fundraising is all in anticipation of Mrs Woodcock’s upcoming participation in the Strictly Headers Charity Football Tournament, which will take place on Friday 19th May. Please read more about this here and thank you for your support!
