On Wednesday 20th March the Sixth Form Biologists enjoyed a trip to the world-famous Body Worlds exhibition in Piccadilly Circus.
Body Worlds London is an educational museum that exhibits preserved human bodies and organs through the process of plastination. It educates about the inner workings of the human body and shows the effects that daily lifestyle choices have on our health. There were over 200 exhibits spread over 6 galleries that covered six key systems of the body: digestive, respiratory, reproductive, cardiovascular, nervous and locomotive systems. The students were able to better understand physiology and anatomy and learnt about the impact of different diseases in these systems, including the impact of diet, cancers, dementia and arthritis.
