Over half term, our Sixth Form artists and art historians enjoyed a whistle-stop tour of New York’s galleries, exhibitions and architecture!
Highlights of the trip included…
- Studying pieces within galleries such as MoMA, The Brooklyn Museum and The Met
- Sketching key cultural features of the Manhattan skyline along the High Line walk and Whitney Roof Garden
- A night at the theatre to see ‘Tammy Faye’
- A special visit to the Friends Seminary School to see a James Turrell ‘Skyline’ installation – an opening in a building’s ceiling allowing those viewing to observe the ever-changing landscape of the sky above! The girls got to experience significant works of art and architecture in situ – a fantastic opportunity to enrich their learning!
