One of the FHS Christmas highlights of every year is our annual sing-along of The 12 Days of Christmas. This year “to save us from tears” the Library has chosen to use this festive carol as inspiration for the Advent Reading Challenge. Instead of screaming seven swans a-swimming, students will read a book featuring water on its cover; to celebrate five gold rings, girls will discover award-winning books (rather than being covered in tinsel, streamers, and whatever else the Upper Sixth can lay their hands on); and the famous first gift – a partridge in a pear tree – will be represented by a first novel.
