FHS House System

The House System has been re-established as an important tradition at Francis Holland following its reintroduction into School Life.

After the amazing discovery of the long-lost one-armed House Cup, which was awarded to FHS girls back in 1930s, Francis Holland has embraced the House System as an opportunity to participate in a range of events to compete for the title of House Champions!

Pupils (and teachers!) join one of four Houses ā€“ Mars, Jupiter, Saturn or Neptune ā€“ and are invited to compete in a variety of exciting events and competitions ranging from sports to drama to quizzes including:

  • School Birthday Inter-House Drama
  • Spelling Bee
  • Mini Marathons in Regentā€™s Park
  • Spaghetti Tower Challenge
  • Debating
  • Sports Dayā€¦ and much more!

As well as competitions, each House takes a turn at organising lunchtime events to raise money for a chosen charity. Students in the Sixth Form can apply to be a House Captain which allows them to develop leadership skills in preparation for university applications.
