On Wednesday 4th May, a dinner was hosted to celebrate the Subject Ambassadors and the Society Representatives. With a smart-casual dress code, it was an exciting opportunity to see each other in fancier clothes, drink wine with the teachers, and eat some nice food. Each table consisted of a couple of teachers, and about four to five students, which I believed was the perfect ratio. Despite sitting with teachers sounding daunting at first, it allowed us to view them in a different light (whether or not this is because of the wine will not be mentioned). As well the customary literature-based speech by Mr Fillingham, the evening included various quizzes, from an emoji song quiz to a few flower-naming questions. These brought each table together, and even led to some tables making alliances and helping one another! In true FHS style, there were the typical ‘How many did you get right?!’ discussions shortly afterwards too. Miss Lawrence created an appreciative and touching atmosphere when she showed a compilation of comments about the clubs from pupils around the school, and we toasted proudly with our drinks. Overall, it was a lovely event, with a fun-filled schedule, not to overlook how amazing the food was!
