This week at FHRP was all about World Mental Health Day, which was on Thursday 10 October. All week, pupils have been spending time learning about what mental health is and how we can all work together to improve our mental and emotional wellbeing.
From a whole school assembly, to individual form times, the girls have been introduced to tools and practices that are available to them through school and online which will help improve their mental health.
Mr Gridelli, our Designated Safeguarding Lead, gave an assembly on Friday explaining what mental health is, how early it can start to play a part in our lives and what resources are available to our staff and pupils to ease and combat the struggles of mental health conditions.
In form time, pupils have been working together on strategies such as journalling, The Mood Battery, Breathe It Through and Wellbeing Bingo and talking about how they can implement some of these tools in their daily life to improve their self care routine.
The girls were reminded that there is always someone available to them at school, be that the School Nurse in our dedicated ‘The Space’ area within our Wellbeing Suite, their Form Tutors, or our fantastic team of School Counsellors who are there to help and support them through times of poor mental health.
Our pupils are regularly encouraged to practise self care, kindness to others and offer support when a friend is in need!
