This past weekend, Miss Smith, Miss Morgan, Mr Higgins, and Miss Chambers accompanied 47 Lower Fifth students on their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze practice expedition in Harlow, Essex.
The weather on Saturday was excellent, with clear blue sunny skies, allowing for a fun and productive day of hiking. The girls demonstrated impressive map-reading skills, learning how to navigate with ease along the route. In the evening, they successfully cooked dinner on their trangias and set up their tents efficiently. Despite being greeted by heavy showers overnight, their spirits remained high, and they performed exceptionally well.
Their resilience, teamwork, and enthusiasm made the weekend a great success. We wish them luck for their assessed expedition in a couple of weeks.
