On Tuesday 17th a group of 22 students, from le collège La Canopée in French Guiana, accompanied by their teachers, spent the morning at school.
They were paired with girls of their same age from the Lower Fifth and went to various lessons. Some of them joined a group of Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth French and gave presentations on various cultural aspects of French Guiana. The Lead teacher, Madame Balias-Constantin also gave a presentation on the French and European space centre in Kourou (French Guiana), pointing out that its proximity to the Equator means it has a record of successful launches. The French students were very impressed by the welcome they received and by the facilities at Francis Holland School.
