Autumn has arrived and it’s cinema time!

On Tuesday 15th October a group of Upper Sixth students joined the Italian community of “Cinema Italia UK” for the screening of “Where They Need To Stand” at Regent Street Cinema.

The issue of racism and fear of immigrants is increasingly current in most of Europe as populism and sovereign propaganda find here a fertile ground. Despite this, there are people who commit themselves to the “other” and the “different”. The film tells the stories of four Italian women, of different ages and from different border areas, who have decided to help the weakest and poorest in society.

This documentary film really opened our eyes to the difficulties immigrants face in today’s Italy in particular and taught us that everyone can make a difference.
