It was an absolute privilege to hear from Amanda Pritchard, CEO of NHS England, in our final Hale Lecture of the academic year.
Amanda spoke with eloquence and passion about the importance of our health service in England, reminding us of its rich history of astounding medical innovation over the past 75 years including: the creation of IVF, the HPV vaccine, and genome testing, to name a few. Amanda faced some fierce questions from our two brilliant interviewers, Istara (Year 10) and Carlotta (Year 12) on the subject of industrial strike action and gender discrimination within the NHS. As part of our collaboration with St Marylebone School, the event ended with a wonderful thank you led by a MBS sixth form student, Nadine.
Thank you to everyone in attendance. Watch this space for more inspiring Hale Lectures in Autumn 2023!
